Garry will be introducing his new play ON THE RAVE to a meeting of Venues North at Live Theatre, Newcastle on January 18. Venues North is a network from across the north of England supporting new theatre in the region. ON THE RAVE is a vibrant dance-theatre piece about the North-East rave scene, commissioned under the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain New Play Commission Scheme.

A new large-cast production of Garry’s adaptation of THE SECRET GARDEN, with music by Tim Sutton, opens tonight at The Courtyard, Hereford and runs until October 7.
A community ensemble join professional principals in this revival of the spectacular show first staged at West Yorkshire (now Leeds) Playhouse in 2009-10 and at Birmingham Rep the following year.

Garry’s latest play BLOW DOWN has opened to a sell-out run at Leeds Playhouse before going out on tour till March 4. The play earned a 15-minute feature on BBC Radio 4’s flagship arts programme Front Row, with Garry interviewed by presenter Tom Sutcliffe. The Guardian praised the ‘dynamism’ of the production and dubbed the play a ‘damning portrait of a town demolished by neglect’.

Garry’s new play BLOW DOWN, which marks the demolition of an iconic power station in Yorkshire, has been awarded an Arts Council England National Lottery Project touring grant.
It will open at Leeds Playhouse in February 2023 in a production by Theatre Royal Wakefield, before touring to theatres and community centres in Yorkshire and the North East.

Garry has been announced as a recipient of a New Play Commissioning Scheme award organised by the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain in association with High Tide Theatre Company. Through 2023, he’ll be working on a large-scale music-theatre production for The Fire Station, Sunderland, commissioned by Sunderland Culture.
